August Backyard Heroes support non-profits
Community Shares, a partner of Madison Commons, recognizes two volunteers each month. The volunteers come from Community Shares' member groups and are selected for their service to the community and to community issues.
Erik Pettersen, Sierra Club Foundation – John Muir Chapter
Erik Pettersen has been an indispensable volunteer with the Sierra Club Foundation John Muir Chapter, helping on clean transportation and renewable energy by doing office work and creating video for the web. Erik is so committed to moving beyond oil that he travels by bicycle and bus—though he came to the National Plug-In day event in his friend’s Chevy Volt.
