The Third Annual Wisconsin Original Cheese Festival was an opportunity for cheesemakers and enthusiasts to gather and experience one of the Dairy State’s most popular products: cheese. Individuals from across the state met in Madison on Nov. 4 and 5 for dozens of events featuring Wisconsin's cheese.
Guests had the opportunity to experience hundreds of signature cheeses, as the schedule included creamery and farm tours, educational and tasting seminars, a Meet the Cheesemaker Gala, and cheesemaker dinners. Every event highlighted a different aspect of Wisconsin cheese.
Ten restaurants partnered with Wisconsin artisan cheesemakers on Saturday, November 5, for the cheesemaker dinners. All participanting restaurants were Madison Original restaurants. Madison Orignals is a not-for-profit association of independently-owned restaurants and affiliated businesses in the Madison area.
Guests enjoyed a three course meal prepared with the cheese, and also had the opportunity to join cheesmakers at a private table, enjoying the cuisine made with his or her cheeses.
The following slideshow features two of the ten participating restaurants--The Blue Marlin and the Old Fashioned.
