Community Shares' February Heroes protect tenants' rights, help Clean Wisconsin find funding



Community Shares, a partner of Madison Commons, recognizes two volunteers each month. The volunteers come from Community Shares' member groups and are selected for their service to the community and to community issues.

Colin Gillis is an activist and educator with a passion for social justice, particularly around housing, labor, and racial justice issues. As the Tenant Resource Center's Board President, Colin models collaborative and transparent leadership, while also making time to serve as a Housing Counselor. Colin is especially concerned with the way people connect with institutions.

As a Development and Events Intern, Marie Faust's stand-out research skills and dedication has allowed Clean Wisconsin to find new resources for grant funding and event planning. She is always eager to provide help whenever possible, even working outside the office though she's also a full-time student—with a triple major!—and has several jobs.
