Event Preview: Madison Fair Trade Festival

Socially responsible, handmade goods will be the focus at Madison’s 19th annual Fair Trade Holiday Festival Saturday, Dec. 5th.

The fair, held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., will be held at the Monona Terrace and is sponsored by the Madison Fair Trade Festival organization in partnership with Just Coffee. Shoppers can browse fair trade goods from around the globe; items range from coffee and chocolate to toys, accessories, textiles and clothing. 

Revenues from the products sold will go towards various causes like fighting human trafficking, supporting fair and safe working conditions for laborers, helping feed and educate the artisans’ children, supporting small coffee and chocolate farmers to ensure they receive a fair wage and creating opportunities for marginalized textile producers all over the world.
