Have your say on the Madison Public Market business plan
A community meeting at the Goodman Community Center is scheduled for May 26 at 6:30 pm for Madison residents to voice their input on the newly released Madison Public Market business plan.
The plan proposed three development options with costs ranging from $9.5 million to $13.5 million.
“The public market project is a really exciting opportunity to create Madison’s next great place,” Kennelly said. “This is the chance to come and share ideas about what should be included and give thoughts on what folks want to see in the Madison Public Market.”
With room approximately 35 tenants, one report estimates the new market will create more than 100 jobs and generate nearly $22 million in economic output annually.
The new market will occupy the Fleet Services Building on E. Johnson Street, with several levels of retail space and an outdoor plaza proposed.
Tuesday’s meeting will included a presentation on the business plan and discussion exercises about the plan, Kennelly said.
The refined business plan will go before the city council for a vote later this summer.
A vendor meeting is scheduled for the same time and location on June 3.
