City Government

The city council approved the creation of a committee to study the site of the soon-to-be-former Oscar Meyer plant. Soglin hopes to achieve a two percent raise in city taxes for the average home in 2018. The development committee for the Madison Public Market is moving forward with a tentative design. Schools

Madison Metropolitan School District’s Mann Scholars program celebrated their 20th year of college prep. MMSD hopes to spend the summer improving their advanced learning plan. 

Community

A new restaurant on the east side aims to combat the lack of female-centered bar spaces.

Northside residents and community leaders gathered to address gun violence and potential solutions. Playground equipment at a west side park was destroyed in a fire.
