Ride the Drive brings more than bikes
Although the skies were gray during Madison's fifth Ride the Drive on Sunday, the turnout was good, with local vendors and non-profits lining Capitol Square.
Riders were able to service and register their bikes at the City of Madison Traffic's engineering and registry tent or learn about the Madison Parks Department at their booth.
105.5 Triple MMM hosted live music from local artists A Royal Clark, Crash the Lights, Amberstein and The Earthlings.
The Greasy Gears, a local dance troupe, performed at the top of State Street, using bikes as props in a series of gymnastic feats and rhythmic routines.
Bikes ranged from classic to wacky, and some Seussian creations had five or more wheels. A canoe even rolled through town at one point in the afternoon.
A Westside Ride the Drive event will be held on Aug. 18.
