School Board race winners sworn in
On April 22, the three winners of the Madison School Board race were sworn in to office in the Doyle Administration Building.
School Board member and Clerk Ed Hughes swore in the three candidates. Current School Board President James Howard was the first, followed by Dean Loumos, who will take Seat 3. TJ Mertz, the winner of Seat 5, was sworn in third.
In the April 2 election, Howard beat Greg Packnett. Mertz ran essentially unopposed for Seat 5 after Sarah Manski, the other candidate who survived the February primary, dropped out. It took longer to determine the winner in the final race between Loumos and Wayne Strong. Those results were eventually determined on Tuesday, April 9.
