Welcome to the Madison Commons, a website designed to provide news and information about all of Madison's neighborhoods and a crossroads for the discussion of community issues. The name comes from the idea of a village commons, a place for news, talk, debate, and some entertainment, too, that's open to everyone.
[1]On Oct. 28, State Street shops and businesses hosted the Downtown Madison Family Halloween. The annual event is the child-friendly version of State Street’s other infamous Halloween party, Freakfest. Children and adults came out dressed in full costume to trick-or-treat at local stores and restaurants, make Halloween crafts at the Overture Center, and watch Wayne the Wizard, among other activities.
