Welcome to the Madison Commons, a website designed to provide news and information about all of Madison's neighborhoods and a crossroads for the discussion of community issues. The name comes from the idea of a village commons, a place for news, talk, debate, and some entertainment, too, that's open to everyone.
[1]Over the next ten days, Madison Commons will release a series [2] of five videos profiling participants in the Madison Apprenticeship Program [3] (MAP). MAP is a community-based, 12-week course in life skills, job-skill training, and confidence building that serves residents of the Allied-Dunn neighborhood.
The series, which highlights the personal stories of MAP participants, is part of our on-going section on City Life [4], which highlights the diversity of living conditions and life stories in the Madison Community.
