Wisconsin has the largest racial disparity in well-being between white children and black children. The future of school resource offers in Madison schools is being discussed halfway through the pilot program. Two Sun Prairie teachers established a scholarship fund for students to pursue engineering education, and they named the first recipient

Development

Grants will ensure the completion of a Madison College campus expansion by 2019. Angel Attic is converting its nursing home to assisted living in part of a larger trend across the state. St. Paul’s Church construction is nearing completion, and this week the mosaic was unveiled.

Willy Street Co-op might add beer and wine to its shelves, but neighborhoods aren’t embracing the plan wholeheartedly. Madison Public Libraries are seeking to document the people, places and events that shape neighborhoods through oral histories in a project called “Living Histories.” A vendor pulled out of the program not because of faulty biodegradable bags,  but instead participants were putting trash in with their organic matter.
