Enjoying the great cold outdoors while ice fishing requires preparation. Prepping to ice fish starts with figuring out a good shelter. Tents that are equipped with a heater, food, music and sleeping bag is the warmest option; however, many folks headout to the lake with just a trusty bucket to use as a seat.

A planned reconstruction project for Madison's Atwood Avenue has sparked conversation among East Side residents, who see the initiative as an opportunity to improve safety conditions for pedestrians and cyclists.

A young girl walked into a Madison public high school one Monday morning this spring. Her hair had been done professionally, her nails were polished and manicured. She was sporting a new, expensive outfit, and she spoke to her friends about the hotels she had stayed in that weekend.


The girl was also homeless.
