Running for Seat 4 on Madison Board of Education
“I didn’t have a huge sense of belonging in school because I was different,” Borokhim said. “I want to make sure every child feels like they belong in our school and I want to help promote a healthy and safe environment for learning to happen.”
By promoting diversity in school programming, Borokhim hopes to provide students with more opportunities to do things they enjoy.
“When you are pushed into doing something you have no passion for, your failure [rate] will be higher.“
Academic achievement for Borokhim is about letting students find their passion and setting high expectations.
“I don’t want to lower the bar for anybody. We want to make sure that everyone is always doing the best they can and being their best selves. We should not accept the status quo and shuffle kids around.”
