The state announced last week tax reductions for affordable housing, which means a $20 million project on Cottage Grove Road can move forward. Mayor Paul Soglin says the increasing property values in Madison keep the pressure on the city to continue providing affordable housing. The Wisconsin Historical Trust will no longer seek historical designation for a building near the Capitol Square so that the Wisconsin Historical Society can expand its museum.

A theater company formed in Wisconsin to give women of color a voice brings its performance to the Overture Center. After a Taco Bell Cantina on State Street was denied a license to sell alcohol, it filed an open records request. Now, it’s filed a lawsuit. Cyclists will be detoured this summer as the Capital City Trail is resurfaced.
